Our aims
The SNKP-Bolivia (the abbreviation, in Dutch, stands for the "foundation for a network of small projects in Bolivia") is a non-profit organization, whose main goal it is to create opportunities in education in Bolivia for people who would not have had these opportunities otherwise.
Study group Ñaupaqman - scholarship
One of our longest running projects is the study group Ñaupaqman. The SNKP supports students in Bolivia, whose situation would not allow them to study otherwise, to get an education. In return the students organize activities in orphanages twice a month. Since its start in 1994, over 100 students have been part of Ñaupaqman. Often, they were the first in their family to study.
Training program
We developed a training program for teachers working with students in primary and secondary (high) school. Wisllita, an organization that provides food and tutoring for underprivileged students from 4 till 16 years in La Paz, helps organizing the training program for teachers in La Paz.
The program resulted in a book called Guía de la Didáctica de la Comunicación (in Spanish).
The teachers of the Marianne Forstig school (see below) use the training program too. Together with students from Ñaupaqman, they coordinate trainings for teachers in the area of Cochabamba.
School
The building of the Marianne Frostig School in Sarcobamba was funded by the SNKP and SEDUCA (a governmental organization for education). This school is a pilot project that caters to students with learning disabilities and behavioral problems, and their families. The architect was an alumnus of the Ñaupaqman study group.
Environment
The students of Ñaupaqman, together with volunteers of SNKP are working on a plant a tree initiative during the festival of Urkupiña in 2020. This initiative will be coordinated with a school, a church, municipal greenhouses and other social organizations. The church has designated an area in Quillacollo.
In Bolivia
The SNKP has had a sister organization in Bolivia since 2005. This means that the SNKP is able to enter into official contracts with the Bolivian government.
In the Netherlands
Funds are raised, primarily in the Netherlands, by organizing events such as lectures and charity dinners. There's no overhead in the organisation. Every penny of your donation is a direct contribution to the projects in Bolivia.
