Andes – Trópico Project
In 1994, Raquel Olivera Rojas, Armando Vera Rocha and André Vontobel established a project to stimulate the biological production of Kañawa, Amaranto and Quinua grains. Since then they have developed diverse products on the basis of these Andean grains. The goal of the project is to establish a stable market for the grain producers, who live in the Bolivar province 4000m above sea level. The inhabitants in this province are disadvantaged compared with contemporary Bolivian society.
If you would like further information about Kañawa, Amaranto or Quinua grains and the initiatives of the Andes Trópico project, you are welcome to contact Raquel by email (olivera_2000_ar@yahoo.es).
